Workforce Development and Career Development Committee

The Rockefeller Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) encompasses the Rockefeller University Hospital and the activities supported by the University’s Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) from the National Center for Advancing Translational Science (NCATS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). These include support of biostatistics, bioinformatics, protection of human participants, protocol development and conduct support, monitoring of protocols, and auditing of protocols, among others. The CCTS also comprises a series of educational programs, which are listed below, including the Clinical Scholars 3-year Master’s degree program that is supported, in part by a KL2 Institutional Career Development Award that is a component of the CTSA. The governing body of the CCTS is the Advisory Committee for Clinical and Translational Science (AACTS) and it has a number of subcommittees that report to it, including one related to the educational activities of the CCTS. To insure that the CCTS educational activities are fully integrated into the University’s educational activities, we are proposing to expand the membership and modify it’s mission. Our vision is to provide a forum to facilitate the exchange of information about all of the University’s educational programs, to share ideas and best practices on elements common to all of the programs, most especially achieving diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of the educational programs, and to identify opportunities to collaborate on specific projects and activities, most notably academic accreditation. The committee will periodically share information with ACCTS so that it is appropriately apprised of current activities and project.
